Frequently Asked Questions

Considering custom software, system integration, automation, or modernization usually starts with a lot of questions.

You don't need to have everything figured out before talking with us. In fact, many of our first conversations begin with a business problem, not a software specification.

Here are answers to some of the questions business owners and leaders most often ask before getting started.

Getting Started

No. Most companies come to us because something isn't working as well as it should. You may have a manual process that takes too much time, systems that don't communicate with each other, an outdated application, reporting problems, or simply an idea for improving how your business operates. We'll start by understanding the problem, your current systems, and what you're trying to accomplish. From there, we can help determine what makes sense.

Cost, Scope & Risk

It depends on the problem being solved and the complexity of the solution. Some projects are relatively small improvements or integrations. Others involve larger applications developed over multiple phases. Rather than forcing a project into a predefined package, we first understand what you need and then provide a detailed estimate so you can make an informed decision.

Working With Existing Technology

Yes. System integration is a significant part of what we do. We help businesses connect ERP systems, accounting platforms, databases, production systems, APIs, internal applications, and other software so information can move where it needs to go without unnecessary manual entry. Whenever possible, we look for ways to improve what you already have before recommending that you replace it.

Working With FreedomDev

Your project is developed by FreedomDev's software development team. We don't build a sales relationship with you and then quietly hand your project to an unknown offshore development shop. You'll have a project team and direct communication throughout the work.

Making the Decision

If an existing product solves the problem well and makes financial sense, buying it may be the better answer. Custom software becomes especially valuable when off-the-shelf products force your business to change important processes, create significant workarounds, can't integrate with critical systems, or don't provide capabilities that are important to the way your company operates. We can help you think through that decision.

Let's Talk Through What's Not Working

Tell us what's creating friction in your business. We'll help you think through the problem, look at possible approaches, and determine whether custom software makes sense.
